Airlines are slashing ticket prices on routes between the UK and Spain as they vie for passengers during the less busy autumn and winter seasons. Leading carriers such as Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air, Vueling, Iberia, Iberia Express, and Air Europa have all introduced promotional fares, with some one-way tickets priced as low as £14.99 or €16.
Ryanair is highlighting fares for September and October starting at £14.99 on routes like London to Castellon, Barcelona, and Valencia. For those looking to travel in November and December, prices begin around £19.99. Meanwhile, easyJet has launched a sale featuring over 780,000 discounted seats, with select routes offering up to 20% off. Travelers can find fares as low as £18.99 from Gatwick to Alicante, Bristol to Malaga, and Luton to Barcelona, while flights to Palma in October are available from £15.99.
Additionally, Wizz Air is expanding its footprint in Spain by opening new bases in Valencia and Madrid this November, adding more routes that are expected to heighten competition with Ryanair. Spanish airlines are also participating in the price reductions. Vueling is providing up to 20% off on 110,000 seats, with international fares starting from €16. Iberia is offering domestic flights from €24 and selected European destinations from €29. In celebration of its anniversary, Air Europa has fares starting at €25.
These discounts aim to stimulate demand following the bustling summer travel period. Nevertheless, the most economical fares typically include only a small under-seat bag, with additional costs for seat selection, cabin luggage, and checked baggage.
Travel experts advise consumers to compare airlines, especially targeting flexible midweek dates in October, November, and January, when prices are generally more affordable compared to peak holiday times.
